An open-air folk-history museum, Kyodo no Mori houses a number of historical buildings including farmhouses, stores and a townhouse. The main building has exhibition rooms focusing on local history and a large planetarium.

The park is also known for its flower gardens, and this is the site of a popular hydrangea festival every summer, where you can see 10,000 hydrangea flowers in 30 varieties. In the spring they hold a plum-blossom festival where you can see 1100 plum trees in bloom.
