All the goods on display here have been past winners of Japan's Good Design Award for noteworthy industrial design, so browsing the shelves is a bit like visiting a design museum. The collection is incredibly diverse but often quite mundane, featuring camping equipment, gardening tools and rubber boots, tubes of glue and erasers, dishes and bicycles, electric fans and packages of pasta.

Everything is well designed, of course, but somehow taken together it just looks like a garage sale - a bunch of random stuff all jumbled together. It doesn't help that the display shelves are rather utilitarian and the walls are quite bare. In spite of the lacklustre presentation though, it's worth a visit just to check out the ever-changing collection. And unlike most museums, everything here is for sale, so you can bring home an award-winning design, even if it's just a tube of glue.
