[Update: closed] As far as rabbit cafes go, Usabibi is pretty basic - it's just a small room with some rabbits (thirteen in all), a two-person sofa to sit on, a couple of tiny tables on the floor, and a TV monitor up on the wall. The cafe's cover charge starts at thirty minutes, which is usually sufficient to meet most of the rabbits. The price includes one coffee or tea, juice or other soft drink.

There's usually only one rabbit running around loose at any given time, but you can feed and pet the other residents in their cages. For an extra Y200 you can purchase a plate of chopped vegetables, which is well worth the investment.

The rabbit on the loose when we visited was a tan and white bunny named Tama, who was very friendly and inquisitive. There's also a very fluffy grey lionhead - apparently a rather rare breed in Japan - who was on the shy side, but warmed up when we gave him some snacks. (We were informed that he doesn't like carrots, although they're a favorite of the other rabbits here.) Note that weekends can get crowded, given the tiny size of the cafe.
